Collection: Tokyo Verdy
Tokyo Verdy is a Japanese football club from Tokyo and one of the most traditional clubs in the country. Founded in 1969 as Yomiuri FC, it was a dominant force in Japanese football in the 1980s and 1990s. With several championship titles and cup wins, the club was one of the founding members of the J.League in 1993. Despite early successes, Tokyo Verdy later fell into the sporting sidelines and played in the second division for a time. The club is known for its green and white club colors and its youth academy, which produced talents such as Hidetoshi Nakata.
