Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace, or RC Strasbourg for short, is a French football club from Strasbourg. Founded in 1906, the club played in Ligue 1 for a long time and won the French championship in 1979. Other successes include three cup wins (1951, 1966, 2001) and the League Cup win in 2005. After financial problems and a new start in the fifth division, the club fought its way back into professional football. Today, RC Strasbourg plays in Ligue 1 again and is known for its passionate fans at the Stade de la Meinau.
