Club Atlético Peñarol, often referred to simply as Peñarol, is a traditional football club from Montevideo, Uruguay. The club was founded in 1891 and plays its home matches at the Estadio Campeón del Siglo, which has a capacity of approximately 40,000 spectators. The club's colours are yellow and black. Peñarol has a passionate following and a historic rivalry with Club Nacional de Football, resulting in the most famous and intense derbies in South America, known as the "Uruguayan Clásico".
