The Kuwait national football team represents the State of Kuwait in international football. Founded in 1957, it belongs to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The team's greatest successes were winning the 1980 AFC Asian Cup and participating in the 1982 World Cup. Kuwait is one of the more traditional footballing nations in the Middle East.
