Istanbul Başakşehir FK is a Turkish football club from Istanbul, founded in 1990. The club quickly rose to professional football and established itself in the Süper Lig. In 2020, Başakşehir won the Turkish championship for the first time, breaking the dominance of the traditional Istanbul clubs Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş. The club plays its home games at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium and is known for its modern club structure and its close ties to state institutions. In recent years, Başakşehir has regularly been represented internationally in the Europa League and Champions League.
