Rio Ferdinand is an English former footballer who is considered one of the best defenders of his generation. He played mainly for Manchester United, where he won numerous trophies, including six Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League. Ferdinand was known for his strong heading, good positioning and ability to play the ball out from the back. He was a key figure in defence for many years for the England national team.
