FC Winterthur, often referred to as "FCW", is a traditional Swiss football club founded in 1896. The club is based in Winterthur, in the canton of Zurich, and plays its home games at the Schützenwiese stadium. FC Winterthur played for a long time in the Challenge League, the second highest Swiss league, before being promoted back to the Super League in 2022 after 37 years.
