AS Roma, founded in 1927, is one of the most traditional and successful football clubs in Italy. The Rome-based club has won three Italian championships (1942, 1983, 2001) and nine Coppa Italia victories. AS Roma plays its home games at the Stadio Olimpico, which has a capacity of over 70,000 spectators and is also the home of Lazio, Roma's city rivals. The rivalry between AS Roma and Lazio is one of the most intense in Italy, known as the "Derby della Capitale".
