1. FC Kaiserslautern, also known as the "Red Devils", was founded in 1900 and is one of the most traditional clubs in German football. With four championship titles (most recently in 1998) and two DFB Cup victories, the club enjoyed great success, particularly in the 1950s and 1990s. The championship in 1998 is particularly legendary, when Kaiserslautern won the Bundesliga directly as a newly promoted team. Today the club plays in the 2nd Bundesliga and plays its home games in the traditional Fritz-Walter-Stadion.
